Claris professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Living Faith Church. She was co-owner of Williams Chick-Moo Farm, business owner, sales clerk, and homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, and visiting with family and friends.
On July 10, 1937 she was married to Joy Williams, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and step-father William Marshall; two infant sons; grandson, Todd Smith; two great-grandaughters, Meredith and Rachel Easley; three sisters, Thelma Pratt, Edna Hance, and Stella Smith; two brothers, Andy Smith and Bill Marshall and one nephew Johnny Marshall.
She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Smith and her husband Bill F. Smith of Berryville and a son, Ronnie Williams and his wife Patty Williams also of Berryville; one sister, Mary Smith of Berryville; four grandchildren, Angela Warner, Susanne Easley, Lance Williams, and LaRon Caywood; granddaughter-in-law, GerieLee Smith; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley Lee, Brooks Epperson, Lacey Smith-Russell, Alexandra Easley, Colin Williams, Reagan Williams, and Drew Caywood; two great-great-grandsons, Maddox Lee and Samuel Lee, and a great-great granddaughter baby Russell due in June; a host of family and friends.
Funeral services were April 28, 2009, at Living Faith Church with Rev. David Keith and Rev. Doby Williams officiating. Interment in the Berryville Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
