Vance Eugene Mason

VANCE EUGENE MASON, 73, of Green Forest, died Nov. 24, 2008, at his home. He was born Jan. 5, 1935, at Hindsville, the son of Theron Everett and Hattie Mae Burson Mason.

He was a retired truck driver for Tyson Foods. He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Eugene Mason, and by one daughter, Joyce Shaul.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Gilbert Mason of the home; one son, Harold Mason of Springfield, Mo.; four daughters and one son-in-law, Laura and Donald Potter of Buffalo, Mo., Cheryl Hill and Carolyn Mayhew, both of Springfield, Mo., and Bethany Steves of Green Forest; four sisters, Helen McCullough of Hindsville, Melva Gabbard of Elkins, Martha Lewis of Hindsville, and Brenda McCall of Springdale; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

No services are planned. Cremation was under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.
