JOHN TROY GADBERRY, a resident of Berryville, was born May 1, 1917, in Shirley, a son of John C. and Clara Gadberry. He died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, in Berryville, at the age of 91.

Mr. Gadberry was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of Southern Heights Baptist Church.

On July 5, 1993, he was united in marriage with Josephine (Womack) Gadberry, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by one daughter, Juanita Sehlmeyer of Marble; five grandsons, Kristopher Lane of Hindsville, Robin Lane of Berryville, Ryan Walden of Marble, Tristin Sehlmeyer of Marble, and James Gadberry of Kansas; two great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; one step-daughter, Janet Mattingly of Kansas City, Mo.; one step-son, James Marbut of Garden City, Kan.; five step-grandchildren, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Evelyn, and one son, Nick Gadberry.

There will be no visitation. Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville with Brother Scott Cox officiating. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
