Dr. Eric Carver
DR. ERIC CARVER, a resident of Rogers, formerly of Eureka Springs, was born Nov. 23, 1915, in Higginsville, Mo., the only son of Hubert and Ida Torp (Jenner) Carver. He died Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, in his home in Rogers, at the age of 92.
Dr. Carver was a doctor of veterinary medicine. He worked for 27 years with the United States State Department on the development of veterinary services in the Americas, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. He was a 32nd-second degree Mason; was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Kansas City, Mo., and was an Eastern Star. He was also of the Episcopal faith.
He is survived by one son, Jon Carver and fiancÚ Charlotta Relander of Geneva, Switzerland; one niece and one nephew.
On Oct. 23, 1945, he was united in marriage with Dorothy Marie Schroeder, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at the St. James Episcopal Church in Eureka Springs with Rev. John Burton officiating.
