Five candidates to vie for two HI commissioner seats

HOLIDAY ISLAND -- The Board of Commissioners election in December will see five candidates vying for two available seats.

At a special nomination meeting Oct. 20, one incumbent and four new candidates were nominated.

Seats currently occupied by Commissioners Harley Barnum and Bill Branum are up for election. Barnum is rerunning for his seat.

Other nominees are Nile Carrothers, John Dolce, Linda Griswold and Kay Janky.

The November issue of Rust Publication Holiday Island News will feature interviews with each candidate. The paper is distributed to Holiday Island residents and will be available online at carrollconews.com.

The district election will take place Dec. 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the district office at 110 Woodsdale Drive. Only Holiday Island property owners may vote in this election. Early voting starts Nov. 11 and ends Dec. 1. Absentee ballots are also available from the district office.
