Dean Lee named to Hall of Honor

JONESBORO -- Arkansas State Director of Athletics Dr. Dean Lee. a former Berryville Bobcat, was a member of the 1975-76 Henderson State University basketball team that was inducted into the Reddie Hall of Honor last weekend at a ceremony held at the Garrison Activity Center in Arkadelphia.

Lee, in his seventh year as ASU's director of athletics, was a freshman on the 1975-76 Reddies basketball team that won its fourth Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference championship in a row and advanced to the NAIA National Championship game while compiling an overall record of 29-3.

A 1979 graduate of Henderson State University, Lee played forward on its 1976, 1978 and 1979 squads. Lee helped lead the Reddies to the 1978 Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference championship and to the 1979 conference and district titles.

Lee's senior season, the Reddies finished as the NAIA National Runner-up for the second time in his three seasons on the team.

In addition to basketball, Lee also played baseball and tennis at Henderson State, where he later earned his master's in education and served as an assistant coach.
