Larimer celebrates birthday

Tuesday, October 7, 2008
Ted Larimer, former Green Forest Tribune publisher celebrated his 88th birthday on Sept. 30 by catching this five-pound plus bass in the Long Creek area of Table Rock Lake while fishing with his son, Tom. "Even on his 88th birthday Dad can still fish me under the boat," Tom said. "He caught this one on a plastic worm. We caught several fish but this was by far the biggest. "I'd like to think I could live to be 88, and if I do I hope I can still boat the big ones like my Dad. We had a great time," Tom reported. Tom is the executive director of the Arkansas Press Association in Little Rock, a post he assumed after growing up in the newspaper business with his family.

  • What a fine looking gentleman. Doesn't look a day over sixty. Most men I know that are 88 years old couldn't hold that bass up, let alone go out on the lake and catch it. Being a neutral observer from Kansas, all I can say is, "Way to go, Uncle Ted! We love you!"
