Frank D. Simpson, 72, of Independence, Mo., died Sept. 29, 2008. Graveside services were to be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery.

He was born June 28, 1936, in Green Forest. He owned his own auto repair shop in Independence from 1975 until he retired in 2006. He was a member of the Independence Optimist Club and the U.A.W. Frank enjoyed fishing for catfish, growing tomatoes and was a big sports fan.

Frank was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy L. Simpson, in 1979, and by his parents, Jerry and Sadie Simpson. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Betty Simpson, of the home; sons Jerry M. Simpson, of Basehor, Kan., and Terry D. Simpson, of Tucker; a daughter, Kim A. Griffin and her husband, Larry, of Liberty, Mo.; a brother, Dean Simpson and his wife, Johnny Bell, of Green Forest; a sister, Christine Marshall and her husband, James, of Berryville; and eight grandchildren.
