Benton Ray Hudspeth

BENTON RAY HUDSPETH, 93, of White Oak Community near Marble, Ark., died Sept. 21, 2008, at his home. He was born May 28, 1945, in White Oak, a son of Frank and Cora Ann Smith Hudspeth.

He was a retired construction worker, a Baptist, and a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Army. He loved to fish, hunt, camp and do outdoor activities, and was considered to be a wonderful son, brother, husband and father.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Jessie Hudspeth, Johnny Hudspeth and Jerry Hudspeth.

He is survived by one son, Andrew Hudspeth of Eureka Springs; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Bill Hudspeth of the home, Bobby and Nora Hudspeth of Berryville, and Jimmy and Joyce Hudspeth of Huntsville; three sisters, Berta Hudspeth of the home, Pearl Campbell of Metalton, and Betty Littrell of Springdale; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Alvin Reynolds officiating. Interment was in the Lower Campground Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville. Pallbearers were Jack Littrell, Michael Ruff, Ricky Hudspeth, Derek Hudspeth, Chad Hudspeth and Frank Campbell. Honorary pallbearers were Sonny Inman, Johnny Ray Inman, Roger Inman, Jared Rich, Matt Rich, Billy Griggs and Dennis Griggs.
