Aug. 12

11:59 a.m. - Police were dispatched to Wal-Mart where a criminal trespass citation was issued.

4:16 p.m. - A motorist was issued a warning for no brake light during a traffic stop.

4:45 p.m. - A harassment issue was resolved at Logust Heights.

5:04 p.m. - Expired tags resulted in a warning for a motorist who was stopped.

6:15 p.m. - A possible domestic disturbance was deemed civil in nature by police who were dispatched to a Spruce Street location.

6:40 p.m. - A Trimble Street motorist received a warning for no brake light during a traffic stop.

Aug. 13

1:15 a.m. - A juvenile found walking around in the alley behind the Ozark Cafe was taken home and police spoke with his father.

8:33 p.m. - A shoplifter was arrested at Wal-Mart.

Aug. 14

12:23 a.m. - Police were dispatched to a Freeman Switch location because a female heard someone outside. Police checked but could not find anyone around.

4:26 a.m. - Dispatched to White Oak, police determined that a suspicious person was just a subject waiting for a ride.

6:27 a.m. - A traffic stop for speeding resulted in a citation for no driver's license.

10:40 a.m. - A funeral escort was provided.

11:04 a.m. - At a tenant-landlord dispute at the Sunrise Motel, police advised both parties of their options.

1:28 p.m. - A shoplifter was arrested at Wal-Mart.

1:35 p.m. - Police checked with the employees at Saunders Museum.

2:16 p.m. - A warning was issued to a motorist going the wrong way on a one way.

3:57 p.m. - Dispatched to the court house for a verbal dispute, police reported that it was handled by juvenile officers.

11:27 p.m. - A traffic stop for speeding resulted in a verbal warning.

Aug. 15

2:02 a.m. - Dispatched to Champion Hills to investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle, police discovered a person talking on the phone.

6:02 a.m. - A traffic stop for speeding resulted in a warning.

8:27 a.m. - An abandoned vehicle at the Trinnen Lane lift station was towed.

9:05 a.m. - A theft of property report was filed.

10:25 a.m. - Dispatched to a St. George address to check on a possible stolen motorcycle, police asked the subject to keep it until it was identified.

10:36 a.m. - An arrest was made at circuit court for domestic battery.

8:36 p.m. - A traffic stop for no vehicle license resulted in a warning.

9:50 p.m. - A speedster was warned.

10:10 p.m. - A traffic stop for left of center resulted in a warning.

Aug. 16

9:56 a.m. - A private property accident at McDonalds required a report.

12:21 p.m. - Returning to St. George, police seized the motorcycle that was possibly stolen.

12:58 p.m. - Police met with the owner of the motorcycle at the police department.

Aug. 17

1:43 a.m. - Police were dispatched to the town square where they found a subject sleeping on the grass and suggested they leave.

12:10 p.m. - A shoplifter was arrested at Wal-Mart.

9:27 p.m. - Two kids skateboarding after hours at the skateboard park who were waiting for their mom were told to stop skating.

10:55 p.m. - A traffic stop for speeding resulted in an arrest for driving on a suspended driver's license.

11:42 p.m. - Dispatched to a McKennon location, police looked for two suspicious subjects, who could not be found.

Aug. 18

1:08 p.m. - A kid riding a dirt bike on the grass at the elementary school was told to go home.

2:20 p.m. - A shoplifter was arrested at Wal-Mart.

6:54 p.m. Aug. 5 - The BFD responded to a report of hay on fire atop a flatbed trailer on Valley Avenue.

11:07 a.m. Aug. 6 - The BFD responded to a structure fire on Hwy. 62 east of town, and returned around 5:30 p.m. for a rekindle.

1:08 p.m. Aug. 9 - The BFD responded to a report of a sleeping child locked in a vehicle with the motor running and air conditioner going at Wal-Mart. Firefighters used a slim jim to enter the vehicle because the vehicle owner couldn't get in.

7:28 p.m. Aug. 14 - The BFD responded to a report of a structure fire near the intersection of Rice and Orchard streets. It was a controlled burn. Someone was burning junk and police were notified of unlawful burning.

11:51 a.m. Aug. 16 - The BFD responded to Dollar Tree where an electrical outlet for the cash register was smoking. It was a short in the register cord and an electrician was notified.
