Lutherans to install pastor

BERRYVILLE -- Our Redeemer Lutheran Church will install its new pastor, the Rev. David A. Rubke, on Aug. 24 at 3 p.m.

He replaces the Rev. Kennth Haydon, who has retired.

Installer will be the Rev. Hubert Bernthal of Rogers, the circuit counselor for the Fayetteville Circuit, and Lutheran clergy from throughout the area will participate.

A 1984 graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary, Rev. Rubke has served congregations in North Carolina, Alabama and Iowa. Prior to enrolling in seminary, he served as a Lutheran school teacher and parish musician in the Midwest and Florida for several years.

He and his wife Becky have four children, Rachel Hafner of Niagra, N.D,, Jonathan Rubke of Tullahoma, Tenn., Michael Rubke of Ames, Iowa, and Timothy Rubke, of the home.

The family will reside in Berryville, and Rev. Rubke will also be employed at Walmart in Berryville.

Our Redeemer Lutheran Church is located on Ark. Hwy. 221, about one mile north of Berryville.

The public is invited to attend the installation ceremony.
