Beaver Bridge crossing takes patience

Friday, August 15, 2008
Workers from the Holiday Island Suburban Improvement District, at the head of a line of about 15 vehicles, waited to go home after Highway Department crews moved the barriers to open up the Beaver Bridge to traffic at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. The bridge has been closed Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. while crews have repaired damage done in the flooding this spring. District Nine Engineer Ralph Fulton said the department hopes to have repairs completed by the first week of September. The bridge will remain closed during the day while this is occurring.
