In 1942, she married Rowland M. Davis. They raised a family of five children in Glen Ellyn, Ill., where Virginia was active in many community activities. She also continued her education, receiving both her bachelors and masters degrees in mathematics.
After a brief teaching career, Virginia and Rowland retired to Eureka Springs, where she was active in the Inspiration Point Fine Arts Colony, Eureka Springs Dinner Club and Historic Preservation Society. After Rowland's death in 1996, Virginia moved to Fayetteville where she became an active member in the Rolling Hills Baptist Church and other civic organizations.
Survivors include her five children, Deanna Erlandson of Madison, Wisc., Rowland Davis of Chicago Ill., John Davis of Cedarburg, Wisc., Charles Davis of Fayetteville, and Pam Spicer of Scottsale, Ariz.; her sister Gladys Minier of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, at Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Fayetteville.
