JAMES KENNETH JIM SMITH, a resident of Green Forest, was born June 25, 1944, in Vendor, a son of Conrad and Viola (Ricketts) Smith. He died Thursday, July 24, 2008, in Little Rock, at the age of 64.

Mr. Smith was a carpenter. He was also of the Baptist faith.

On Sept. 3, 1974, he was united in marriage with Nancy M. Smith, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by two sons, Kent Bonham and wife Jennifer of Harrison, and Kevin Smith and wife Amy of Green Forest; his mother, Viola Smith of Peircetown; one brother, Arless Smith and wife Betty of Hasty; three sisters, Loretta and husband Henry Phillips of Batavia Sue and husband E.G. Campbell of Piercetown, and Emma and husband Doyle Reddel of Dover; five grandchildren, Carter Smith, Kenley Bonham, Colin Smith, Kailey Bonham, and Kathlyn Smith, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Frances Whiteley.

Memorial services were held Monday, July 28, 2008, at the First Baptist Church of Green Forest with Brother Marvin Emmons officiating under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
