CAROL EUGENE SATTERFIELD died at his home on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at the age of 80. He was born May 10, 1928, in Green Forest, to Elous and Cliffie Satterfield.

He started his career in real estate and then moved on to construction where he owned and operated several construction companies.

He moved to northern California in 1964. He married his wife, Jewel, there and in 1981, and they settled in Vacaville, Calif.

Carol was known for his loving nature, his generosity and his sense of humor. He was a devoted Razorbacks, San Francisco 49er and Sacramento Kings fan. His wish was to be buried next to his son and parents in Pickens Cemetery in Arkansas, which always remained his home.

He is survived by his wife, Jewel, of Vacaville; an uncle, Clay Tharp of Green Forest; an aunt, Elvita Robertson of California; three grandchildren, Lindsey Maki, Laura Satterfield and Landon Satterfield; two great-grandsons, Kyle and Mason; numerous cousins; his extended family and close friends.

Celebration of life services were held Monday, July 28, 2008, at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest with Bro. Tom Wood officiating. Burial followed in Pickens Cemetery.
