Eureka Episcopalians celebrate 125th anniversary

EUREKA SPRINGS -- Members of St. James Episcopal Church will celebrate the church's 125th anniversary on Sunday, July 27, and invites everyone to attend.

The Rev. Betsy Porter will officiate at the dedication of a Celtic Cross in the church garden commemorating the event. Consecrated in 1883, the church has been in continuous use since then.

The public is invited to attend the celebration which will begin at 2:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served following the dedication.

St. James is located at 28 Prospect Street on the Historic Loop. Anyone having questions may call Susan Walter at the church office, (479) 253-8610 Tuesday through Friday.

Congratulations to St. James Parish. My grandmother, Sally Elizabeth (Henry) Mathis, attended St.James many, many years ago. I visited the Parish on occasion when on vacation.
