JOHN CLARK PARKHURST, JR., a resident of Holiday Island, was born Nov. 10, 1920, in Tucson, Ariz., a son of John Clark Sr. and Edna (Clark) Parkhurst. He died Sunday, June 15, 2008, in Eureka Springs, at the age of 87.

Mr. Parkhurst was an X-ray technician and a member of the CIA. He was a member of St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church in Springdale.

On July 30, 1947, he was united in marriage with Margaret Louise (More) Parkhurst, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by one nephew, Charles Parkhurst, and wife Janet of Poteau, Okla.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dr. Yule Eugene Parkhurst.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at Hillspeak Cemetery in Eureka Springs, with Bishop Leo Michael officiating under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
