BERNIECE DONALDSON, a resident of Berryville, was born Oct. 2, 1920, in Carroll County, a daughter of James D. and Ellen (Wright) Marshall. She died Saturday, June 14, 2008, in Berryville, at the age of 87.

Berniece was a homemaker and farmer, having milked many a cow. She also operated a Phillips 66 station, among many other jobs, aside from raising a family.

She is survived by one son, Donald Donaldson and wife Tammie of Berryville; two daughters, Brenda Barr and Vicki and husband Randall Smith, all of Berryville; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

On Feb. 3, 1945, she was united in marriage with Evert Donaldson, who preceded her in death after 58 years of marriage. She was also preceded by her parents; one daughter, Donna Plummer Wallace; two infant children; two grandchildren; two brothers, Bert Marshall and Charlie Marshall; and two sisters, Mary Marshall and Lois Hale.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at the Living Faith Church with Brother David Keith and Brother David Donaldson officiating.
