Friday, June 13, 2008

ALPENA -- In preparation for Nailbenders coming to build a new facility for Alpena Baptist Church later this month, volunteers are needed to prepare and searve food for the many volunteers, according to volunteer coordinator Lena Combs.

The construction site is located east of Alpena on the south side of U.S. Hwy. 62,, and ample signage is posted.

The volunteer builders are from the Arkansas Baptist Association, and the organization has worked on previous Southern Baptist church buildings in Berryville and Holiday Island.

The group will arrive on June 22 and be in church services that day, with some setting up camp on-site and others staying in Harrison. Construction will be underway all week starting on June 23, and continue the following week, and again July 14-18.

Persons who wish to help in feeding the workers are asked to telephone Combs at (870) 437-2888.
