NITA HANBY, a resident of Berryville, was born Oct. 19, 1920, in Oak Grove, a daughter of Leonard and Anthony (Humbard) Kiper. She died Thursday, May 29, 2008, in Berryville, at the age of 87.

Ms. Hanby was the founder of Nita Faye Flowers. She attended the First Christian Church of Berryville.

She is survived by one son, Robert Butch Hanby and wife Beverly of Berryville; one daughter, Leigh Ann Hanby of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Doye Bull of Ozark; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

On Jan. 23, 1938, she was united in marriage with R.M. Bob Hanby, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents and one brother.

Graveside services were held on Monday, June 2, 2008, at the Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
