JOHN W. CHIERA, a resident of Green Forest, was born March 15, 1949, in Troy, N.Y., a son of Joseph and Dorothy (Holting) Chiera Sr. He died Saturday, May 24, 2008, in Green Forest, at the age of 59.

Mr. Chiera served in the United States Marines and the United States Army during Vietnam.

On July 27, 1982, John was united in marriage with Jennifer Rysedorph, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by six daughters, Chrissy Dessureau of New York, Jennifer Chiera of New York, Brenda Chiera of Springfield, Mo., Jessie Chiera of Branson, Mo., Faith Chiera of Green Forest, and Brittney Chiera of Texas; two sons, Michael Chiera and Matthew Chiera, both of Green Forest; three brothers, Joseph Chiera, Jr. of Troy, N.Y., Frank Chiera of Troy, N.Y., and Tommy Chiera of Woodbine, N.J.; two sisters, Theresa Holmes of Springfield, Mo., and Mary Terel of Stillwater, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Anna Ramos, Donald Wayne Chiera, Adrian Chiera, Michael John Maples, Allen Maples, Camryn Maples and Ryder Maples; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
