M. Marlene Gonczy

M. MARLENE GONCZY, a resident of Eureka Springs, was born May 14, 1935 in Ypsilanti, Mich., a daughter of John P. and Alice (Neir) Skelt. She died Sunday, March 30, 2008, in Springdale, at the age of 72.

Mrs. Gonczy was a bookkeeper for Little Portion Monestary. She was also a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and the Benediction oblates -- Subiaco Abbey Hermit of St. Bruno.

On Sept. 4, 1982, Marlene was united in marriage with Joseph S. Gonczy, who survives her. She is also survived by one sister, Kay and husband Robert Struble of Westerville, Ohio; one nephew, Mike Struble and wife Doreen of Marlboro, N.J.; two nieces, Shelli and husband Tim Kiste of Dublin, Ohio, and Cindi and husband Sam Jack of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; four step-sons, Gary Gonczy and wife Sue of Onalaska, Wisc., Richard Gonczy and wife Rosemary of Prescott, Ariz., Tim Gonczy and wife Tina of Tavares, Fla., and Lee Gonczy and wife Camille of Plant City, Fla.; one step-daughter, Kathy and husband David Gaddis of Aurora, Ohio; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Memorial services were held Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Little Portion Monestary.
