Paul W. Pearsall
Paul W. Pearsall, of Victoria, Texas, was born Jan. 3, 1921, in Meade, Kan. Parents were Albert and Pearl Sprott Pearsall.
He is survived by wife, Paula Parsons Pearsall; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and David Polasek; grandson, Clay Newman; great-grandson, Jaryn Newman; and sister, Roberta Shrauner of Elkhart, Kan.
He was preceded in death by parents; son, Rodney Pearsall; granddaughter, Melora Newman; and brothers, Norman Pearsall, Gerald Pearsall and Raymond Pearsall.
Paul graduated high school in Ford, Kan.; attended Bethany Nazarene College; flew B-17s and B-29s during WWII; attended Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Okla.; and became a professional pilot, flight instructor, and aircraft mechanic and inspector.
He was a ground school instructor for pilots at Reese Air Force Base; pilot for several companies and individuals; and in his later years, ran airports in El Reno, Okla., and Berryville, Ark. One of his flying positions was for Lyndon B. Johnson during the presidential campaign for President John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at the Church of the Nazarene, the Rev. Bob Fuller and Rev. Clayton Taylor officiating. Interment was at Memory Gardens in Victoria with military honors provided by the Victoria Veterans Council.
