EUREKA SPRINGS -- The Lady Highlander soccer team started its match last Thursday with Shiloh Christian a little late due to the threat of violent storms circling the area.

Highlander coach Mike Smith said the teams waited until 5:30 p.m. to start, then called the game at halftime due to lightning with the Lady Saints up 4-0.

Smith said the score and game counts and that the team wouldn't play again until after spring break this week. He also said Kelly Clarke had some good defensive interceptions in that first half.

Softball

Coach Daniel Cornelison took his squad to Lincoln and it lost the first game 15-0 in four innings. The girls put the ball in play but couldn't get on the scoreboard. They started a second varsity match but it was rained out after two innings with Lincoln leading 10-0.

Track

The junior high practice meet was rained out before the running events could begin.
