ALPENA -- His Company, the drama ministry of First Assembly of God, Alpena, will present "Alone on the Altar, Calvary's Lamb," written by Randy Vader and Jay Rouse with musical arrangement by?Camp?Kirkland, in three performances Friday, Saturday and Easter Sunday, March 21-23, according to producer and director Bekah?Wilson.

The Easter Cantata portrays how God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, allowing Him to be placed on the altar and sacrificed for mankind's sins. Alone on the altar, He drinks from the cup, and forsaken and broken, He is lifted up and held in death's dark embrace.

The story is one of redemption, and the passion and victorious resurrection of the Savior.

Wilson has a bachelor's degree in theater from?California State University, and started His Company five years ago after realizing how many talented people God had brought together in the Alpena church.

Along with bringing a new standard to church plays, His Company produces and performs Easter and Christmas plays that are often envied by small professional theater groups, and also has a youth team which performs dramas with an anti-drug focus at area churches and events.

Said Wilson, "I'm truly amazed at just how awesome God is. He has taken something I truly enjoy and is using my love of theater to bring honor and glory to Him."

Performance times are at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday,?March 21-22, and 11 a.m. on Easter Sunday.

First Assembly of God,?Alpena, is located on U.S. Hwy. 62.
