HELEN MAE BONHAM, a resident of Holiday Island, was born Jan. 3, 1923, in Eureka Springs, a daughter of James E. and Della (Hamon) Crews. She died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, in her home in Holiday Island, at the age of 85.

She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Brookshire of Atlanta, Ga. and Patricia Sims of Dallas, Texas; two sons, Michael Carrico of Berryville, and Steven Carrico of Green Forest; two brothers, Gary Crews and wife Mary of Eureka Springs, and Tom Crews and wife Blanche of Independence, Mo.; three grandchildren, Jay Sims of Dallas, Texas, Nathan Carrico of Fayetteville, and Michelle Carrico of Berryville; three great-grandchildren; two nieces; five nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

On July 16, 1960, she was united in marriage with Edward Lee Bonham, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Everett Crews of Kansas City, Mo. and Elbert Crews of Eureka Springs.

Funeral services were held. Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Brother Larry Montgomery officiating. Interment followed in the Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Memorial donations may be to St. John s Hospice.
