Tuesday, March 4, 2008

Tickets are now available for the Green Forest Chamber of Commerce annual banquet at 6 p.m., Saturday, March 8, at the Green Forest School cafeteria.

"This will be a special evening celebrating Green Forest," said Chamber President Jim Smith.

The evening will begin with special music from the Green Forest High School band, followed by the annual State of the City Address by Green Forest Mayor Richard Deweese.

Special presentations will be made to the Green Forest Hero of the Year, traditionally somebody in public service. The Green Forest Person of the Year award recognizes someone who has distinguished himself in serving the people and community of Green Forest.

A 15-minute Power Point presentation will be given by Mark Goodman of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, and the chamber will unveil a new brochure promoting Green Forest.

During dinner, special music will also be provided by Miss Carroll County, Green Forest High School senior Erin Robertson.

"I hope everybody who loves Green Forest will join us for this special evening," said Smith. "Extraordinary things are happening on our Main Street and all around us. Come celebrate!"

Tickets are available for $10 at the First National Bank of Green Forest, Country Rooster Antiques and Cafe on the Square, Smith Family Funeral Home and Green Forest City Hall.
