JOHN W. SLATON, a resident of Holiday Island, was born Nov. 7, 1947, in Memphis, a son of Herbert M. and Ethel (Jobe) Slaton. He died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, in Fayetteville, at the age of 60.

Mr. Slaton was a fireman in Memphis. He attended Wild Flowers Chapel in Eureka Springs.

On Feb. 14, 1993, he was united in marriage with Sandi (Seago) Slaton, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by one daughter, Misty Slaton of South Haven, Miss.; one brother, James Slaton of West Memphis; his father, Herbert Slaton of Charleston, Miss.; one grandchild; and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother.
