Dr. William W. Woodward

DR. WILLIAM W. WOODWARD, a resident of Holiday Island, was born Sept. 22, 1931, in Parsons, Kan., a son of Farris Savoy and Katharine (Wirt) Woodward. He died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, in Holiday Island, at the age of 76.

Dr. Woodward was a veteran, having served in the Air Force Reserves. He was also a medical physician. He was a member of the Holiday Island Community Church, commissioner of the first Western Carroll County Ambulance District Board, Board of Commissioners of Holiday Island, the Ozarks Chorale, and the choir at his church. He also helped in securing the legislation permitting board members of Holiday Island to be elected.

On Aug. 10, 1952, he was united in marriage with Patricia Louise Brady, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by two sons, William David Woodward and wife Joanna of Overland Park, Kan., and Timothy Woodward of Chicago, Ill.; three daughters; Alice Mary and husband Ron Willard of Independence, Mo., Deborah Ann and husband Don Kammon of Winter Haven, Fla., and Jennifer Sue and husband Cliff Robinson of Blue Springs, Mo.; one sister, Mary Woodward of Madison, Wisc.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, at the Holiday Island Community Church. Memorial donations may be sent to the American Diabetic Association, American Cancer Association, or the Holiday Island Community Church. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
