B.J. SMITH, a resident of Berryville, was born Aug. 28, 1943, in Berryville, a son of Earnest Joseph and Walcie (Herd) Smith. He died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at his home in Berryville, at the age of 64.

B.J. enjoyed visiting the Antioch Church and loved being a member of the Town & Country Lanes Men's Bowling leagues.

On Aug. 6, 1962, B.J. was united in marriage with Carol Owens, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by two daughters, Brenda and husband Randall Fausett of Berryville, and Rhonda and husband Jesse Summerfield of Jay, Okla.; one son, Joey Smith and wife Angie of Harrison,; 11 grandchildren, Cody Smith, Angela Rowland, Corey Rowland, Taylor Smith, Alisha Geddes, Kaylee Smith, Ben Smith, Shawn Geddes, Jessie Summerfield, Shelby Smith and Madison Smith; two nieces and a host of friends.

B.J. was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Nathaniel, Gale, Erby, and Manford Smith.

Funeral services were held Dec. 12, 2007, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Brother Ray Edwards and Brother Dale Meredith officiating.
