LaDEL JEAN FAULCONER, a resident of Holiday Island, was born in Parkville, Mo., a daughter of John Clay and Willa D. (Hunt) Hardesty. She died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, in Springdale, at the age of 67.

Mrs. Faulconer worked as an executive secretary to the head hydraulics engineer on pipeline projects and retired from Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co. in 1991. She was very active in the Holiday Island Women's Fireman's Auxiliary, serving twice as president. She was also a conductor on the Eureka Springs and North Arkansas Railway, which she loved very much. She was a business partner with her husband in Faulconer Construction and past owner of Trade Winds Motel, which they renamed Lazy Hog Lodge. LaDel had an 11-year battle with cancer, in which she fought very hard in order to be with her family for as long as she could.

On Feb. 8, 1989, LaDel was united in marriage with Boyd Faulconer, who survives her of the home. She is also survived by one son, Mark Stephens of St. Louis, Mo.; one daughter, Cheri Inghram of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Dennis Hardesty and wife Pam of Kansas City, Mo.; three step-sons, Gregory, Steven and William Faulconer; one step-daughter, Janet Jones; one brother-in-law, Curtis Faulconer and wife Ruby of Holiday Island; five grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
