JOHN W. HOLLINGSWORTH, a resident of Berryville, was born Aug. 7, 1917, in Woodstock, Va., a son of Charles Edwin and Clara Belle (Holler) Hollingsworth. He died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2007, in Berryville, at the age of 90.

Mr. Hollingsworth retired from the government, where he made models for the National Security Agency. He was a Mason and Shriner.

He is survived by three daughters, Linda and husband Carter Courtney of Old Lyme, Conn., Sue Ann Kendig of Berryville, and Nancy and husband Greg Sneed of Turlock, Calif.; one brother, Edwin Hollingsworth of Arlington, Va.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

On March 14, 1940, he was united in marriage with Ellen Coyle Boyce, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his parents and two brothers.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville with Rev. Donald Hudson officiating under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
