ANNE CERNE LARSON, 89, formerly of Hot Springs and Conway, died Nov. 20, 2007, at her home in Houston, Texas. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to John and Agnes Stupar Cerne.She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur (Bill) Larson, her mother and father, and her five brothers and three sisters.

Anne married Bill Larson in May 1944. They lived in California, Texas, Arkansas, and Kansas before retiring to Hot Springs in the early 70s. She was an avid gardener and birder, and was active in her church well into her 80s. During her lifetime Anne taught school and worked in the business office at St. Joseph Hospital, Hot Springs, but she was primarily a homemaker and mother.

Anne is survived by her three children: Lea Dudley of Foley, Ala.; Karen Shewbart and son-in-law, Bill Shewbart, of Houston, Texas; and Albert Larson and daughter-in-law, Lynn Larson, of Eureka Springs. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held Dec. 29 at the Church of St. John the Baptist, Hot Springs. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to St. John School, Hot Springs or Garvin Gardens, Hot Springs.
