W.C. Andy Andrews

W.C. ANDY ANDREWS, a resident of Harrison, was born Jan. 26, 1936, in Memphis, Tenn., a son of Earl and Bessie Andrews. He died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, in Kimberling City, Mo., at the age of 71.

Mr. Andrews retired from the U.S. Army in 1975. He served during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He was also in law enforcement for 17 years. He served as chief of police in Alabama and Arkansas cities and also served as sheriff of Carroll County. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Green Forest and the Lion s Club.

On Feb. 10, 1981, he was united in marriage with Karen (Berry) Stone Andrews, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by one step-son, Chad Stone of Georgia; two sons, David Andrews of Florida and Donald Andrews of Alabama; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one sister, Ann Russ Rood of Tennessee; and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Bill Andrews, Earl Andrews, Jr., Kyle Andrews, Harold Andrews, and Thomas Andrews; and six sisters, Geneva, Kate, Virginia, Cleo, Reba, and Juanita.

Memorial services were held on Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville with Rev. Mark Bryant officiating under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
