Tuesday, November 20, 2007

A journey through time awaits visitors during the 25th Annual Eureka Springs Tour of Homes as they tour the only downtown in America listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The event is set for Saturday, Dec. 1, from 2 to 7 p.m., and is hosted by the Eureka Springs Preservation Society. It includes guided tours of some of the most illustrious homes along Spring Street as well as choir music, caroling, jazz bands, refreshments, and Victorian merriment.

Fourteen beautifully decorated locations are participating in this year's tour. Several of the locations have been completely renovated just in time to participate this year. "The attention to detail in each of the homes makes this tour truly special for not only the history buff, but also for those who love seeing architectural works of art," according to Dee Bright, president of the Preservation Society. "It's a lovely way to begin your holidays. If you've never been, come and make it part of your family's holiday tradition."

Tickets are available at the Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce and the Eureka Springs Historical Museum. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the tour. Children 12 and under are free. For more information call (800) 638-7352.
