Willis Brant Howerton
WILLIS BRANT HOW-ERTON, 61, of Seligman, Mo., died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at his home.
He was born June 9, 1946, in Salinas, Calif. to Fred Frank and Phoebe Louella (Duncan) Howerton.
He graduated from King City High School in California in 1965.
He worked at Daisy BB in Rogers, for 18 years, then retired due to ill health in 1990. Willis was an avid fisherman and occasional hunter.
He is survived by his three daughters from his first marriage to Kathy J. (Williams) Howerton, Nita Gulliver of Luton, England, Phebe Gann of Seligman, and Kerry Howerton of no fixed abode. From his recent second marriage to Betty Freeman, he has two step-sons, Earnest and Jerry and two step-daughters, Teresa and Louise.
He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Tashina and Brittany Gann of Rogers, Michael Ray Brantley Hennington of Hindsville, and Shyla Richardson of Seligman.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and step-mother, Zettie, his brothers, Rocky, Alvin and Homer and his two sisters, Mae and Betty.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, in Gobbler Church, Berryville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Mo. Burial was in Gobbler Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Bishop Jerry Abram.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John s Hospice, which helped comfort him and his family during his final months.
