Mrs. Braswell was born on Dec. 11, 1929, in Oak Grove, one of five children born to the late Arthur U. and Mamie (Thurman) Humbard. On March 15, 1946, in Columbus, Kan., she was united in marriage to Jack Walton Braswell, and to this union two sons were born.
The family moved to Noel, Mo., in 1964. Virginia was employed for more than 20 years at the Tyson Foods plant in Noel. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Noel. She enjoyed sewing, working puzzles and was an avid stamp collector.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, Jack Walton Braswell on June 13, 1991; a son, Donald Braswell; and two brothers, Arnold and Thurman Humbard.
Virginia is survived by a son, Edward K. Braswell of Joplin, Mo.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Patton and Walsie Aday, both of Miami, Okla.; four nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Graveside funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at the Hale Cemetery in Oak Grove.
