RICHARD "RICK" SPOON, a resident of Waverly, Ill., was born Nov. 16, 1974, in Creston, Iowa, a son of the late Ronald Carrole Spoon and Gloria Jean (White) Spoon. He died Saturday, July 28, 2007, in Western Mound Township, Ill., at the age of 32.

He loved being outdoors and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his mother, Gloria Spoon of Berryville; two sisters, Tami Sue and husband Casey Wilson of Huntsville, and Elizabeth Jean and husband Fred Becker III of Oak Grove; his grandmother, Barbara Jean White of Boonville, Ind.; five nieces, Kaitlin and Emily Becker of Oak Grove, and Abby, Beth, and Carolyn Wilson of Huntsville; his former wife, Kari Spoon; several close family members, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; his paternal grandparents, Charles and Pansy Spoon; and his maternal grandfather, Webber White.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wayne Writer officiating. Interment followed at Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
