Walter William Scott

WALTER WILLIAM SCOTT, a resident of Lampe, Mo., was born Aug. 14, 1920, in Baxter, Mo., a son of the late Orley Franklin and Erma May (Yochum) Scott. He died Monday, July 30, 2007, in his home, at the age of 86.

Mr. Scott was a farmer and a forest conservationist for the Missouri Conservation Department. He also helped build the Alaskan Highway. He was a member of the Highview Assembly of God Church in Lampe, where he served as secretary and treasurer for several years. Mr. Scott served as a member of the 341st Division in World War II and the 266 Engineer Battalion. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW.

He is survived by one son, Jerry and wife Karen Scott of Fair Grove, Mo.; two daughters, Judy and husband Dr. Ted Caddell of Kimberling City, Mo.; Joyce Carmical and her companion, Sam Wallace of Lampe; one brother, Farris Scott of Seal Beach, Calif.; one sister, Marie Newman of Lampe; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

On Sept. 9, 1942, Walter was united in marriage with Genevieve Clevenger, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one great-grandson and one sister.

Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at the Highview Assembly of God Church in Lampe, with Rev. Roger Ely and Rev. Keith Butler officiating.
