HELEN SISCO, a resident of Berryville, was born May 2, 1914, in Des Moines, Iowa, a daughter of Fredrick and Marie Ricker. She died Thursday, July 26, 2007, in Berryville, at the age of 93.

Mrs. Sisco graduated from Iowa State University in 1938 and was a member of the Alumni Association. While living in Iowa she was a home management supervisor for the FSA administrator of Woodbury County.

She married John W. Sisco on May 2, 1940, in Des Moines. Mrs. Sisco and her husband served as supervisors for the Winnebago City Farm Training School for Boys with Special Needs in Harrison, Iowa. She and her husband also owned and operated a dairy farm in Dryden, N.Y., where she also taught the second grade for 20 years.

She and her husband retired in Green Forest in 1970, where they raised registered Angus cattle. She also taught as a substitute teacher in the Green Forest School District for several years. She was a member of the Garden Club in Green Forest, St. John s Hospital Auxiliary, and the Rosary Society of St. Anne s Catholic Church in Berryville.

She is survived by five nieces, Ruth Ann Whitesell and Betty Jane Sisco, both of Branchville, N.J., Judith Shotwell of Greendell, N.J., Marilyn Poe of New Jersy, and Patricia Pierson of Pennsylvania; two nephews, Earl Sisco and John Sisco of New Jersey; and a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at St. Anne s Catholic Church in Berryville with Father Thomas Arackel officiating. Interment will be in Beemerville Cemetery in Sussex City, N.J.
