LEWIS E. CONNER, a resident of Green Forest, was born Aug. 29, 1926, in Rudd, a son of Everett and Margie (Miller) Conner. He died Tuesday, July 24, 2007, in Fayetteville, at the age of 80.

Mr. Conner was a veteran, having served in the Navy during WWII. He was also a farmer.

He is survived by six sons, Rebel Disheroon and wife Marcella of Houston Texas, Carroll Conner and wife Paulette of Berryville, Charles Conner of Rudd, Gary Conner and wife Rita of Gobbler, Gene Conner and wife Sandy of Berryville, and Dale Conner and wife Tricia of Berryville; two daughters, Yvonne and husband Jerry Etchison of Oak Grove, and Earlene and husband Dan Wilson of Berryville; one brother, Larry Conner and wife Marlene of Kentucky; three sisters, Mary Lou and husband Bob Doom, Charlene and husband Simos Ioannou, and Helen Sotiriou, all of St. Louis; one daughter-in-law, Joyce Disheroon of Green Forest; 23 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

On May 9, 1949, he was united in marriage with Alma Laveta Trantham, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his parents; one son, Ron; and two brothers.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 27, 2007, at the Nelson's Green Forest Chapel with Brother Dean Smith officiating. Interment followed at Gobbler Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
