ERBIE SAVANNAH PARKHILL, a resident of Berryville, was born Feb. 16, 1926, in Compton, a daughter of Henry and Dovie Barlett Phillips. She died Friday, July 6, 2007, at the age of 81.

Ms. Parkhill was the owner of Country Bazaar. She and her husband wrote several books on cooking with honey. She was a nurse for Dr. Carter. She was also a Christian of the Baptist Faith.

Erbie is survived by one daughter, Linda Crews Weems of Berryville; one grandson, Chad Weems and his wife Ora, and a great-granddaughter, Isabelle Weems, all of Eureka Springs; her fiance, John Baker of Berryville; one brother, Ollie Phillips of Berryville; seven sisters, Agnes Mathis of Florence, Ore., Inez Marshall of Monett, Mo., Pauline Verhyan of Tarrytown, N.Y., Dottie Maloney of Cassville, Mo., Izell Johnson of Eureka Springs, Betty Martz and Virginia David of Bentonville.

On Jan. 4, 1960, she was united in marriage with Joe Parkhill, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Alpha Phillips, and one sister, Martha Phillips.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 9, 2007, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville with Dr. John Martz officiating. Interment followed in the Moreland Cemetery, north of Grandview.
