ERBY LASLEY, a former resident of Green Forest, was born March 6, 1910, in Osage, a daughter of Charles Seaborn and Cordelia (Allred) Bishop. She died Monday, June 4, 2007, in Springfield, Mo., at the age of 97.
Mrs. Lasley was a homemaker and was a member of the Methodist Church of Green Forest.
She is survived by two sons, J.C. and wife Shirley Lasley of Peel, and Edd and wife Annette Lasley of Springfield, Mo.; two daughters, Patsy Ann and husband Bob Harris of Las Cruces, N.M., and Judy Kay and husband Don Dancey of Strafford, Mo.; one brother, Fred Bishop of St. Louis, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
On Dec. 17, 1926, she was united in marriage with Harry R. "Ted" Lasley, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Floy, Argie and Roy Bishop; and two sisters, Inous McCracken and Gladys Bishop.
Erby will be remembered for her beautiful spirit, love of family, relationships and family gatherings. She was an excellent cook and delighted family and friends with her tasty preparations.
Funeral services were to be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2007, at the Nelson Green Forest Chapel with Rev. David Hanshaw officiating. Interment was to follow in the Pickens Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
