He was born Sept. 25, 1972, in Vallejo, Calif. to Van McCallister and Robbi McCallister. Bryan graduated from Broken Arrow, Okla., High School, Class of 1992. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla.
Bryan was the owner/president of McCallister Police and Tactical Supply, L.L.C. in Lowell; loved all types of guns and gunsmithing; won numerous awards through competition in IDPA national meets. He enjoyed golfing, was a history and science buff, loved all types of water sports, all types of animals, video games and movies and was especially fond of Ford Mustangs.
Survivors include his wife of five years, Traci Kuncl McCallister of the home; his mother Robbi Proffitt and step-father Dennis of Claremore, Okla.; his father Van McCallister and step-mother Candy of Terlton, Okla.; two brothers Michael McCallister, of Centerton, Ark., Philip McCallister, of Tulsa, a sister Angela Sweet of Owasso; four step-brothers, Michael Acosta, of Bristow, Okla., John Proffitt, James Proffitt, Joseph Proffitt, all of Tulsa; three step-sisters Heather Proffitt, of Herndon, Va., Laurie Levi, of Tulsa and Melissa Brown, Skiatook, Okla.; maternal grandmother Maxine "Midge" Bishop of Anderson, Calif.; paternal grandmother Bertha McCallister of Elizabeth City, N.C.; his father- and mother-in-law Dick and Betty Kuncl of Berryville; a brother-in-law Jason Kuncl, of Fayetteville; a sister-in-law, Jennifer Kuncl, of Dallas; two exchange sisters, Cathleen Knohf, of Dresden, Germany, and Louise Harms, of Hamburg, Germany; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandfathers, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 25, at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springdale, with Father John Antony, and Michael Harrison, officiating. Burial wass to be in the Oak Grove Cemetery (south of Rogers on Pleasant Grove Road).
Memorials may be made in honor of Bryan McCallister to any northwest Arkansas law enforcement agency or to the charity of the donor's choice.
