W.R. "Bob" Stone
W.R. (Bob) Stone, a resident of Holiday Island, was born July 28, 1921, in Smith Center, Kansas, a son of Edward and Daisy (Achenbach) Stone. He died Sunday, May 6, 2007, in Fayetteville at the age of 85.
Mr. Stone was an electrical engineer and a member of the Classic Car Clubs of America, R.E.A.C.T. He also attended the First Presbyterian Church in Eureka Springs.
On Jan. 31, 1947, he was united in marriage with Vivan (Dowie) Stone, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by two daughters, Pamela Harris of Atlanta, Ga., and Wendy Peterson of Rollie, N.C.; one sister, Barbara Holtz of Methesda, Mass.; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Mr. Stone was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Linda Janise Stone.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 10, 2007, at the First Presbyterian Church of Eureka Springs with Rev. Claire Kelley officiating. Interment was in the Oak Hill Grange Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
