Ms. Ripley was a homemaker and was also the first female postmaster at Beaver. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by one son, Bobby Ripley of Little Rock; one daughter, Wilsie and her husband Bob Sherman of Eureka Springs; two granddaughters, Angie Doshier-Sowersby and her husband Monty Sowersby of Branson, Mo., and Tammy and her husband Jed Bullock of Eureka Springs; one great-granddaughter, Kaylea Doshier of Branson; and one great-grandson, Hayden Bullock of Eureka Springs; her extended family, Sharon, Leah, and Amber Gould, several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
On Aug. 11, 1934, she was united in marriage with Oscar Franklin Ripley, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents and one sister, Allie Wilson Hurd.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 30, 2007, at Nelson s Chapel of the Springs with Rev. Eugene Rose officiating. Interment was in the Eureka Springs Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Memorial donations may be made to the Eureka Springs Hospital Foundation at any Arvest Bank location.
