Todd Maberry returned from duty in Iraq just in time to start the 25th Victorian 10K race last Saturday at the Inn of the Ozarks in Eureka Springs. Todd was given a big round of applause by the runners when he was introduced. Welcome back, Todd!

EUREKA SPRINGS -- Through the fog and gloom the runners advanced, ignoring all obstacles as they pounded steadily toward their goal, a far distant finish line.

Runners in the 25th annual Victorian Classic 10K, and 2-mile fun run and walk were greeted with morning fog and cool temperatures last Saturday, perfect conditions for a run around scenic Eureka Springs.

When serviceman Todd Maberry, who just returned from Iraq last Wednesday, fired the starting gun, the 10K runners went right from the Inn of the Ozarks parking lot onto U.S. Hwy. 62, while the 2-milers went left onto the Historic Loop to the Crescent Hotel and back.

They returned, all at their own speed, to the Convention Center at the Inn of the Ozarks, where awards and door prizes were presented.

The Eureka Springs Rotary Club sponsored the race to benefit ECHO, the Eureka Springs free health clinic, so members were decked out in classic Victorian finery as they worked as officials during the race.
