HARVEY STANDLEE, 77, of Clifty (Madison County), died March 7, 2007. He was born in Carterville, Mo., on Jan. 27, 1930, to the late William Monroe Standlee and Mary Florence Wright. He served from 1949 to 1954 in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
Harvey was a truck driver, an avid CB ham radio operator and was known by his CB handle, Uncle Abe. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by one sister, Maroline Morris of Oak Grove, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; and his four brothers, Rex Standlee, Willie Robert Standlee, Frank Ardel Cotton Standlee and Estel Standlee.
Celebration of life services were held Monday, March 12, at Hale Cemetery with Bro. Kenny Asbury officiating. Interment was in Hale Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest.
