Mary Elizabeth Bond

MARY ELIZABETH BOND, 83, of St. Charles, Mo., formerly of Shell Knob, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, in St. Joseph s Health Center in St. Charles.

She was born June 24, 1923, in Harville, Mo., the daughter of James Robert and Mellia Eveline (Sloats) Henson. On Jan. 21, 1940, in Charleston, she was united in marriage to Louis Harold Bond, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter; a grandson; four sisters; and three brothers.

She is survived by one son, Harold Frederick Bond and his wife Peggy of Memphis, Tenn.; one daughter, Karen Sue Bock of St. Charles; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Mary received her education in Charleston. She worked at Kresge for several years as a sales clerk. In 1977, she moved to Shell Knob and worked at Wal-Mart until her retirement. She lived in Shell Knob for 30 years. Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shell Knob and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 40 years.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, in the First Baptist Church, Shell Knob, under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. Pastor Bob Gaddis conducted the service. Burial was in Viola Cemetery.
