Charles "Luck" Moody

CHARLES "LUCK" MOODY, a resident of Berryville, was born May 29, 1916, a son of Thomas S. Moody and Pearl (Walker) Moody. He passed away Feb. 6, 2007, at the age of 90 in the Eureka Springs Hospital.

Luck spent his entire life on the family farm that he loved, west of Berryville on the Kings River. He wrote insurance for Farmers Mutual more than 35 years and was also secretary-treasurer for the company for many years.

He was a member of the Grandview Baptist Church. He was married to Georgia (Comer) Moody in 1940, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by one daughter, Linda Smith of Berryville; two grandsons, Matt Smith of Berryville, and Randall Smith and his wife, Jessica, of Berryville; one great-grandson, Dylan Smith, also of Berryville; two sisters-in-law, Mirtie Moody of Berryville and Dorothy Moody of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruby Roller and Ruth Russell, both of Eureka Springs, Nell Bandy of Grandview and Gail Wilkinson of Springfield, Mo.; four brothers, Sam Moody and Curtis Moody, both of Berryville, Bill Moody of Oklahoma, and one infant baby brother.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville with Reverend Bob Neeley and Brother Billy McCall officiating. Interment will be at the Grandview Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc. Memorial Donations may be made to the Grandview Baptist Church Building Fund or the Gideons, P.O.
